RIBA offers a wide range of resources that are available to architecture students but are most often not used at all as the information given to the students about this is not enough to drive them to look further.
In my experience, CPDs and Talks can provide students with insights into their future career, hep them improve their design work and get to create a network of contacts. Universities fail to provide more detailed information as to how can this help the evolution of an undergraduate/postgraduate.
The library is a good support and the lectures as well but they lack the real feel of an actual matter that is discussed in detail let’s say at a CPD seminar. Shockingly I have learned more about insulation over few seminars than I managed to get from my previous year lectures, yet I haven’t seen any other student being present at any of these events. More marketing would enable students to access this unlimited resource of in formation and networking that a RIBA membership can provide.
